The Raspberry Pi Camera Board V2 is an upgraded official camera module designed and manufactured for Raspberry Pi systems. It uses the high-quality Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor, offering significantly improved image quality compared to the original 5MP camera module.
This camera supports high-resolution still photography as well as smooth HD video recording, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including robotics, machine vision, monitoring systems, and DIY electronics projects. The module connects to the Raspberry Pi using a 15-pin ribbon cable through the dedicated MIPI CSI interface, ensuring fast and reliable data transfer directly to the processor.
