The HT-U066 Ultrasonic Water Level Sensor is a professional-grade ultrasonic distance and level measurement module designed for high-accuracy, non-contact monitoring of liquids and surfaces in tanks, reservoirs, and industrial vessels. The sensor uses time-of-flight (TOF) ultrasonic technology, where the module emits a high-frequency sound pulse at 66±2 kHz, the pulse travels through air, reflects off the target surface, and returns to the sensor. By precisely measuring the round-trip time, the sensor calculates the distance to the target with an impressive accuracy of ±2 cm. The focused 60° beam angle ensures the measurement is concentrated on the area directly below the sensor, minimizing reflections from tank walls and other obstacles. The sensor has an effective detection range of 30 cm to 150 cm, with a blind zone of 0–30 cm in which measurements are not possible (a normal limitation of ultrasonic sensors). The HT-U066 outputs raw TOF data in microseconds (µs) via a UART serial interface at 3.3V logic level, 19200 baud rate (8N1), making it directly compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. It operates from a wide 8V to 16V DC input range (with 12V DC as the standard) and consumes only 20 mA, making it suitable for battery-powered and solar-powered installations. The sensor is built for durability and longevity in real-world environments: the photosensitive resin shell is filled with silicone electronic potting gel that protects the internal electronics from moisture, vibration, and chemical exposure, while the aluminum transducer provides excellent acoustic performance and long-term reliability. With an IP54 protection rating, the sensor is well-protected against dust ingress and water splashes, suitable for outdoor and semi-protected indoor environments.
