The 1Sheeld+ is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.0) shield for Arduino that transforms your smartphone into a versatile development tool. By leveraging the processing power and sensors already present in modern smartphones, this single shield replaces the need to purchase dozens of individual Arduino shields.
The system consists of two main components:
Hardware shield: A physical board that stacks onto your Arduino and acts as a wireless bridge, piping data between the Arduino and your smartphone via Bluetooth
Mobile app: A free software platform available on the App Store and Google Play Store that manages communication and lets you select from over 40 virtual shields
The shield communicates with Arduino using UART at 115,200 baud and is compatible with 5V and 3.3V boards. It offers two-way control — you can control your Arduino from your phone, or control your phone from your Arduino. The 1Sheeld library (available via Arduino IDE's Library Manager) provides a simple interface to access all virtual shields.
Important: The original 1Sheeld has been discontinued. The 1Sheeld+ variant (with BLE 4.0) is the later version supporting both iOS and Android devices.
