The heat break features a stainless steel outer body that provides mechanical strength and excellent thermal isolation, preventing heat from migrating upward from the heater block to the heatsink. Inside, a smooth PTFE (Teflon) liner reduces friction on the filament, ensuring consistent feeding and minimizing clogging, especially with flexible materials or long retraction moves. The bi-metal design (steel with PTFE) creates a clean thermal transition zone, which is critical for reliable extrusion, sharp retraction response, and high-quality prints.
