It consists of 40 pins arranged in a single row (1×40 configuration) with standard 2.54mm (0.1 inch) pitch – the most common spacing for breadboards, perfboards, and Arduino-compatible boards. The pins are bent at a 90-degree angle, allowing the header to be soldered horizontally onto a PCB, with pins extending perpendicular to the board surface. This is ideal for edge connectors, board-to-board stacking where boards are perpendicular, or creating right-angle female header interfaces. The breakaway (also called snap-off) design features scored notches between each pin, enabling you to snap off any number of pins (1 to 40) using pliers or your fingers – no cutting tools required.
