The SparkFun MPL115A1 Barometric Pressure Sensor Breakout is a compact sensor board that provides precise atmospheric pressure and temperature measurements for embedded and environmental monitoring applications.
The board is based on the MPL115A1 MEMS barometric pressure sensor, which combines advanced micro-electromechanical technology with digital signal processing to deliver accurate pressure readings over a wide operating range. The sensor communicates through an SPI interface, allowing simple integration with microcontrollers such as Arduino, STM32, ESP32, AVR, PIC, and other embedded platforms.
In addition to pressure measurement, the sensor provides temperature data that can be used for compensation and environmental monitoring. The low average current consumption of approximately 10 µA at one measurement per second makes it highly suitable for battery-powered devices and remote sensing applications.
