The GPS APM2.5 NEO-6M Module is a high-performance positioning module based on the Ublox NEO-6M chip, featuring a built-in active ceramic antenna for strong signal reception. It includes an EEPROM for data storage and a backup battery to preserve configuration and last-known position. Compatible with 3V–5V systems, it communicates via TTL UART, making it ideal for APM 2.5 flight controllers, drones, robotics, and Arduino-based GPS tracking projects.
The GPS APM2.5 NEO-6M Module is a compact and reliable GPS receiver designed primarily for use with the APM 2.5 / 2.6 / 2.8 flight controllers and other autopilot systems, but it is equally well-suited for general microcontroller-based navigation projects. The module is built around the powerful u-blox NEO-6M chipset, known for its fast satellite acquisition, high sensitivity, and low power consumption.
The module comes equipped with a built-in active ceramic patch antenna, ensuring strong satellite reception even in challenging environments such as urban canyons or partially obstructed skies. A dedicated rechargeable backup battery keeps the module's internal RTC (Real-Time Clock) and last-known satellite data alive, allowing for faster hot starts when the device is powered on again.
In addition, an onboard EEPROM chip provides non-volatile storage for configuration data, so user-defined settings such as baud rate, update rate, and message format are preserved even after a complete power loss. The module communicates via standard TTL-level UART, making it directly compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32, and other 3.3V/5V microcontrollers.
