The MPX5050GP is a precision gauge pressure sensor from Freescale/NXP, designed to measure pressures from 0 to 50 kPa (0 to 7.25 PSI) with a linear analog output of 90 mV/kPa. Powered by a standard 5V supply with low 7 mA current draw, it features integrated signal conditioning, temperature compensation, and calibration in a compact 6-pin 867B-04 case. Ideal for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, medical devices, industrial controls, HVAC, and automotive systems requiring accurate and reliable pressure measurement.

Pressure & Force Sensors

The MPX5050GP Gauge Pressure Sensor is a high-accuracy, piezoresistive silicon pressure transducer featuring on-chip signal conditioning, calibration, and temperature compensation. Manufactured on a single monolithic silicon die, this sensor delivers a highly linear analog output voltage that is directly proportional to the applied pressure, making it one of the most popular pressure sensing solutions for embedded systems, industrial automation, and DIY electronics projects.

The MPX5050GP is a gauge-type sensor, meaning it measures pressure relative to atmospheric pressure, making it ideal for applications where differential measurements with respect to ambient conditions are needed. It has a measurement range of 0 to 50 kPa (approximately 0 to 7.25 PSI), with a typical sensitivity of 90 mV/kPa, providing excellent resolution even for small pressure variations.

Operating from a single 5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V) with only 7 mA of current draw, the sensor outputs a clean analog voltage that can be read directly by any microcontroller's ADC pin (such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, PIC, or Raspberry Pi via an external ADC). The integrated temperature compensation circuit ensures stable performance across a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial and automotive environments.

Housed in a 6-pin 867B-04 through-hole package with a single-port pressure inlet, the MPX5050GP is easy to integrate into PCB designs, prototype boards, and final products. Its combination of accuracy, robustness, and ease of use makes it a top choice for respirators, blood pressure monitors, water level sensors, vacuum control systems, and a wide range of fluid and gas pressure applications.
