The 5mm RGB LED with Common Anode configuration is one of the most popular components for adding colorful, dynamic lighting to electronic projects. Inside its clear 5mm housing, it integrates three separate LED chips — Red, Green, and Blue — that share a single common positive terminal (anode). By varying the brightness of each color through PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), you can create millions of color combinations, from pure primary colors to soft pastels and even bright white.

This LED is the perfect choice for Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and microcontroller-based projects where colorful visual feedback is needed. Its common anode design means the longest pin connects to the positive (+) supply voltage, while each color is controlled by sinking current to ground through a current-limiting resistor — a setup that works seamlessly with most digital output pins.

With a wide 250° viewing angle and a clear lens, light is distributed evenly in nearly all directions, making the LED highly visible from any angle. The high luminous output of 700–800 mcd for red and green and 300–400 mcd for blue ensures vivid, saturated colors that stand out even in well-lit environments.
