The TCS3200 Color Sensor Module is a high-performance color detection module built around the imported TCS3200 RGB sensor chip. The module includes four built-in white LEDs that provide stable illumination for accurate color sensing under different lighting conditions.
The sensor contains an array of photodiodes with red, green, blue, and clear filters distributed evenly to ensure precise color measurement without location bias. It converts detected light intensity into a square-wave frequency output that can be read directly by microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other embedded systems.
Compared to the older TCS230, the TCS3200 offers improved performance and better color recognition accuracy. The module supports programmable output frequency scaling and operates using a standard digital TTL interface, making integration simple and efficient for electronics projects, automation systems, and robotics.
The recommended sensing distance is approximately 1 cm for best detection accuracy.
