Arduino Display

The 2.4 Inch TFT LCD Touch Shield is one of the easiest and most popular ways to add a vibrant color display with touch capability to any Arduino project. The shield comes fully assembled and tested — no wiring, no soldering required. Simply plug it on top of your Arduino board, load the appropriate library, and you'll have a working display in under 10 minutes.

The display itself is a 2.4-inch diagonal TFT panel with a sharp 240 × 320 pixel resolution and rich 18-bit color depth, capable of showing 262,000 different shades. This is a massive upgrade compared to the traditional 128×64 monochrome OLED or LCD displays — perfect for showing colorful graphs, photos, icons, gauges, and animated graphics. The display is driven by the SPFD5408 controller, which includes a built-in video RAM buffer for fast and stable image rendering.

A 4-wire resistive touchscreen is integrated directly onto the display, allowing you to detect finger or stylus presses anywhere on the screen. This makes it ideal for building interactive menus, virtual buttons, drawing apps, calculators, and full-fledged graphical user interfaces (GUIs). The shield also includes an onboard microSD card slot, perfect for loading bitmap images, fonts, and data logs without consuming Arduino flash memory.

The shield uses an 8-bit parallel data interface plus 4 control lines for fast communication, occupying digital pins 5–13 and analog pins A0–A3 (leaving D0–D4, A4, A5 free for I2C and other uses). It is 5V compatible, with an onboard 3.3V 300mA LDO regulator to safely power the LCD logic and backlight from your Arduino's 5V supply. The 4 white-LED backlight is on by default but can be connected to a digital pin for software-controlled brightness or power saving.

This shield works best with Arduino UNO, Duemilanove, and Diecimila boards. It also works with the Mega 2560, although at roughly half the speed due to the Mega's different pin mapping. Note: This shield is NOT compatible with the Arduino Leonardo.

Whether you're building a portable instrument, a smart home control panel, a game, a touchscreen menu system, or an educational learning kit, this 2.4" TFT LCD touch shield delivers professional-looking results with minimal effort.
