The DRV8825 Stepper Motor Driver Module is a breakout board built around Texas Instruments' DRV8825 microstepping bipolar stepper motor driver IC. Designed as a drop-in upgrade for the popular A4988 driver, it matches the same compact module size, pinout, and interface, making it a direct replacement in most applications including RepRap-style 3D printers and CNC controllers.
This module accepts a simple STEP and DIRECTION control interface and supports six microstepping modes, allowing for smoother motor operation and finer positional accuracy. With its adjustable current-limiting potentiometer, you can safely drive stepper motors at voltages above their rated value to achieve higher step rates and improved torque.
The board is manufactured using a 4-layer PCB with 2 oz copper and includes an exposed ground pad beneath the driver IC for excellent heat dissipation.
