Converter Modules

The XY-K485 TTL to RS485 Converter Board is a high-performance communication interface module that enables reliable conversion between TTL-level serial signals and RS485 differential bus signals. Designed for industrial automation, embedded systems, and long-distance data transmission applications, the module simplifies RS485 communication by automatically controlling the transmit and receive directions.

RS485 is a half-duplex communication protocol that allows bidirectional data transfer over a shared communication line. The XY-K485 module automatically manages data flow direction, eliminating the need for software-based switching and making operation as simple as using a standard UART serial port.

The module utilizes an industrial-grade communication chip and incorporates advanced PCB design techniques to provide excellent resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues. Integrated lightning protection and grounding support further enhance communication reliability in harsh industrial and outdoor environments.

Supporting a wide operating voltage range from 3.0V to 30V DC, the module is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontroller systems. It supports baud rates from 110bps to 256000bps and allows networking of up to 40 or more devices on the same RS485 bus.

A built-in 120Ω termination resistor can be enabled via the R0 jumper for long-distance communication lines. The module also includes TXD and RXD status LEDs for easy monitoring of communication activity and supports hot-swapping without signal interference.
