The SIM7000G NB-IoT / Cat-M / EDGE / GPRS HAT is a powerful cellular communication module designed specifically for Raspberry Pi and IoT development platforms. It provides reliable global connectivity through NB-IoT, LTE Cat-M, and 2G GPRS/EDGE networks, making it an excellent solution for low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) applications.
This module integrates the SIM7000G cellular chipset and supports multiple global frequency bands, allowing it to operate in different regions around the world. Thanks to its low power consumption, wide coverage, and low latency communication, the module is well suited for IoT applications such as intelligent metering, asset tracking, remote monitoring, environmental sensing, and healthcare monitoring devices.
The board features a standard 40-pin GPIO header that allows direct connection to Raspberry Pi series boards. It also provides breakout UART pins, enabling communication with other development boards such as Arduino and STM32 microcontrollers.
For location-based applications, the module integrates GNSS positioning capability supporting GPS, BeiDou, and GLONASS satellite systems. This enables accurate positioning with a typical accuracy of less than 2.5 meters.
The SIM7000G HAT supports a wide range of communication protocols including TCP, UDP, PPP, HTTP, FTP, MQTT, SMS, and email, making it highly flexible for cloud-based IoT communication. The onboard USB interface allows users to send AT commands, debug communication, and retrieve GPS data easily.
The module includes a SIM card slot supporting both standard SIM cards and NB-IoT specific SIM cards. Two LED indicators display power status and network activity, helping users quickly monitor device operation.
With flexible voltage configuration (3.3V or 5V), low power sleep modes, and robust operating temperature range, this module provides a reliable platform for IoT device development.
